Consecutive Trips to State Championships
US Track & Field
A 14-year coaching veteran, Mr. Kennedy was the assistant track and field coach and the assistant football coach at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin for two years before coming to US. Prior to that, he coached varsity football at Ledgemont High School. He has coached more than 20 high school athletes who went on to compete at the NCAA Division I and III levels after earning All-Ohio honors.
In 2008, the US track and field team won the District and Regional Championship while finishing 7th at the State Championships. In 2009, the team finished 11th at the State Championships, capping a four-year run of US teams qualifying for the meet. Individually, several US athletes have set school records while earning both All-Ohio and All-America honors.
College Destinations for US Track & Field Athletes
US Track & Field athletes often continue their athletic careers. Recently, they have competed for these colleges:
Division I: Abilene Christian University, Butler University, Columbia University, Hampton University, Loyola New Orleans, Ohio State University, University of Pennsylvania, Syracuse University, College of William & Mary.
Division III: Carleton College, Case Western Reserve University, Washington University, John Carroll University, Ohio Northern University, Middlebury College, Williams College, Emory University, Oberlin College, Swarthmore College, Denison University, Occidental College.
