US Golf
Aaron Sayre was named Varsity Golf Coach at University School in 2024. He also serves as a Learning Specialist at the Upper School.
Mr. Sayre served as an Assistant Coach with the US Golf Team in 2023. A gradaute of the Ohio State University, Mr. Sayre coached multiple sports and served as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Horizon Science Academy before coming to US.
Annually recognized as one of the top programs in Ohio, US has won five OHSAA Division II State Championships (1990, 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2008). In 2003, US shot the lowest all-time score in tournament history (564) on the Ohio State University Gray Course. Additionally, the team finished second at the State Championship in 1989, 2000, and 2010.
Four US players have won the OHSAA Individual State Championship: Robert “Bunk” McMahon '91 in 1990, Kevin Lynch '93 in 1992, Mac McLaughlin '09 in 2007, and Scott Smith Jr. '11 in 2010.
Over the years, US graduates have matriculated to outstanding golf programs at the NCAA Division I and Division III levels.
