Sean McDonnell was appointed Director of Athletics, Junior K-12, and Varsity Basketball Coach at US in 2016. From 2003-2016, Mr. McDonnell served as the Men’s Basketball Coach at Case Western Reserve University where he was also an Assistant Professor.
While at CWRU, three of Coach McDonnell’s players were finalists for National Player of the Year honors, and three of his players received Academic All-America recognition. Prior to CWRU, McDonnell served as the Men’s Basketball Coach at Hiram College, and as an assistant coach at Williams College and Le Moyne College, and Boston College, where he worked with six future NBA players. During his 20 years of college coaching, Mr. McDonnell directed basketball clinics in Czech Republic, Greece, South Africa, and Former Yugoslavia.
Mr. McDonnell received his bachelor of arts in English from Boston College and his MA in Education from Le Moyne College. He and his wife, Angie, have three children: Leah, Conor ‘30, and Emily.
